TALLAHASSEE---The Seminoles might have been getting the results that they wanted, but the brown grass didn't make any winners at Dick Howser Stadium in recent weeks. A lack of rain has killed a great deal of the grass and hurt its appearance, and on Monday, action was finally taken.
The grass has been uprooted and new sod is being placed. The Seminoles next home series is still a few weeks away, the infield should look good as new at that time.
There's good reason for FSU Head Baseball Coach Mike Martin to have concern with the field. The baseball field after all bears his name.
