When it comes to the She's Got Game, softball has dominated the spring months and its popularity is blossoming at a rapid pace.
Fast pitch softball has managed to take a slow game and turn it into one of the most competitive sports for female athletes.
FSU's Yuruby Alicart is in her final season for the Lady Noles and can't deny how much the game has meant to her.
"It was great. I will never forget this time. It was only two years at FSU, but it's been great."
But the impact isn't just on the collegiate level. Try middle school. Earlier this week, the team from Deerlake, filled with 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, competed and won their county championship.
Deerlake Middle School softball coach Jim McCrimmon said, "I think people are realizing that girls wanna compete too, and there are a lot of opportunities in the park leagues or travel ball, and this helps."
So whether it's an NCAA leader, or a junior high school prospect, you can believe this sport will continue to pitch talented “got gamers.”
