CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) _ Buster Posey had three hits --
including a grand slam -- and drove in seven runs to carry Florida
State to a 13-to-8 win over Miami.
Posey had a two-run double in the first, the grand slam in the
sixth and added a run-scoring single in the seventh for the
Jack Rye added a two-run home run, Mark Hallberg was 2-for-4
with two runs scored and two R-B-Is, and Jason Stidham had three
hits and scored twice for Florida State.
Mark Sobolewski was 2-for-5 with a two-run home run for Miami.
Richard O'Brien also homered to highlight a three-run second for
the Hurricanes, who pulled into a 4-all tie after that inning.
Brian Chambers allowed one run and three hits in
three-and-two-thirds innings of relief for Florida State, and Matt
Fairel got his first save.
Enrique Garcia allowed five hits, five walks and six earned runs
in five-and-a-third innings for the Hurricanes.
