Braves Can't Sweep Colorado

4-29-07

DENVER (AP) - Matt Holliday hit a two-run home run in the eleventh inning to help the Colorado Rockies avoid a three-game series sweep with a 9 to 7 victory over the Atlanta Braves today.

With one out in the eleventh, Steve Colyer (0-1) walked Todd Helton, who set a club record with five. Holliday then drilled a 2 and 2 fastball over the fence in center field.

Holliday was hitless in his first four at-bats including grounding into two double plays. He had an infield RBI single in the ninth.

Denny Bautista (1-0) worked a scoreless eleventh for the win. Colorado's Troy Tulowitzki had an unassisted triple play in the seventh inning.

After Kelly Johnson and Edgar Renteria singled, Tulowitzki caught Chipper Jones' line drive behind second base. Tulowitzki stepped on the bag to double up Johnson and tagged Renteria for the third out. It was the 13th unassisted triple play in major league history and the second by Colorado.

Scott Thorman homered and drove in a career-best four runs with a career-best four hits for the Braves.
