FSU Baseball Experiments With Rotation

In a weekend where the FSU bats slugged the Garnet & Gold to a pair of victories in Miami and their 13th straight series win, pitching was the underlying story, Coach Martin experimented with the rotation. He moved Ryan Strauss to Saturday and gave Danny Rosen his first start of the year.

FSU Head Baseball Coach Mike Martin said, "Well, we just wanted to let Strauss pitch Saturday and if Rosen was not used Saturday, then we'd have him available to start Sunday."

Rosen's 4-inning, 3 strikeout performance was good enough to pencil him in this weekend at Maryland.

Martin said, "We'll do the same thing this weekend except Michael Hyde will start Saturday. We'll go with Henry, Hyde and Rosen if he's available."

The win also gives FSU a 4-game cushion over the 2nd place Clemson Tigers who just so happen to be the final home series at Dick Howser Stadium, coming up on May 11th, but you know the head coach, only wanting to take care of the business at hand.

Martin said, "This team will not look past the next pitch. They understand they've been through it before. They know what can happen in the Atlantic Coastal Conference."
