Tallahassee, FL - The Atlantic Coast Conference Champion Florida State volleyball team will finish off its remarkable 2009 regular season with a road match at Miami on Wednesday.
The Seminoles (27-2, 18-1 ACC) will travel to Coral Gables, Fla. for the 1 p.m. match against a Hurricanes (18-11, 11-8) squad they swept on Sept. 18 in what was the first conference game for both teams.
Against Miami, FSU will be coming off a memorable couple of days.
First on Friday, the ’Noles swept Boston College to earn the ACC’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and then on Sunday FSU claimed its first ever outright conference crown with a sweep of Maryland.
One day later, senior outside hitter Mira Djuric was named the ACC Player of the Week and Florida State moved up to No. 14 in the AVCA Division I Coaches Poll - a ranking that is not only the highest in school history but also puts the Seminoles ahead of rival Florida for the first time ever.
Head coach Chris Poole will be looking for career victory No. 599 as his Seminoles match up with the Hurricanes on Wednesday. Djuric also enters the match just one service ace of moving into a tie for fifth all-time in the Florida State record books.
