Marlins Fall In 12 Innings

MIAMI (AP) _ Josh Bard's single in the 12th inning drove in the
winning run as the San Diego Padres rallied to beat the Florida
Marlins 7-to-6.
The Padres trailed 6-to-3 after seven innings and 6-to-4 after
eight, but two Florida outfield errors helped San Diego score two
unearned runs in the ninth to tie the game and force extra innings.
Brian Giles finished with three hits for the Padres. Justin
Hampson is 1-and-1 with the win. Trevor Hoffman got his seventh
save in nine chances.
