FSU Softball Preps for ACC Tourney

Above all other sports at Florida State, softball has been the most consistently successful since the turn of the century. This season, Coach JoAnne Graf's team is once again primed for a run at the College World Series in Oklahoma City. The quest begins this week in the ACC Tournament...

At (42-21) the FSU Softball team is just 2 wins shy of last year's total. But they haven't necessarily torched the competition this season. As a result, the Lady Noles are a No. 4 seed in the ACC Tournament.

"Rather be a number 1 seed because that means we would have played better during the year, but there are great teams in this tournament and we've got to beat them all anyway so we're okay with where we are at," said FSU Softball Head Coach JoAnne Graf.

Still, favor is on the side of the Garnet & Gold. JoAnne Graf Field will host the 3-day event, swinging the homefield advantage directly to the ladies.

"It's really exciting, I know we'll have alot of fans... And we know the field well, so it's good," said FSU Outfielder Monica Montez.

"We've been beaten here this year but I like being at home and it makes it easier for us," added Coach Graf.

"We have a great team, great talent so if we play our game and hit the ball like we can, we are gonna do awesome," said FSU Infielder Brittany Osmon.

We shall see Thursday night at 5:30pm when the Lady Noles battle 5th seeded North Carolina. On that day, they'll begin a quest to improve their placement in the NCAA Regionals.

"We get in the ACC Championship game, I think we've got a good lock on getting an at large bid for Regionals... But we want to win the tournament," concluded Coach Graf.
