VSU Softball Season Ends in NCAA Regional

The valdosta state blazers softball team had their backs up against the wall after suffering a loss in the regional tournament friday... now they were up for elimination against florida gulf coast... the team didn't quite have what it took though it was a good fought game that went into extra innings.

VSU Head Softball Coach Thomas Macera says:
"They played hard... we just didn't get the timely hits we needed with runners on base... I bet we left 12 or 13 people on base... when you don't get timely hits your not going to win."

VSU Relief Pitcher Ashley Mayhue says:
"It's the last game of the year so we definitely wanted to win but we worked hard and gave it all we had and they ended up winning."

There was obvious disappointment in the blazers duggout... there were high expectations being the number one team in the region... now their season comes to an end... in Valdosta Christina Vitale Eyewitness sports.
