Atlanta's Bobby Cox moved past Sparky Anderson into fourth place in career managerial victories when the Braves beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 9-to-2 tonight, Cox's 2,195th victory in the majors.
Cox has a (2,195-1,698) record in 26 seasons with the Braves and Toronto Blue Jays. Cox was managing his 3,896th game, counting three ties. Anderson, the former Reds and Tigers manager, needed 4,030 games to reach 2,194 victories.
