BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) _ Bryan Augenstein (6-5) allowed no earned
runs on eight hits in seven-point-two innings as Florida beat L-S-U
8-to-4 today. He held the Tigers hitless from the third through
sixth innings, while walking none and striking out seven.
With yesterday's game, it marked the first time in L-S-U history
that Florida (27-25, 14-12 Southeastern Conference ) had won a
regular-season S-E-C series in Baton Rouge.
L-S-U starter Charlie Furbush (3-8) -- who allowed seven runs in
the sixth and seventh innings combined -- surrendered a total of
eight hits while walking four and striking out three.
All four of the Tigers' runs were unearned, in the eighth
inning. And by then, Florida had seven of its runs -- three of them
in the sixth.
