Tampa Can't Win in Canada

TORONTO (AP) _ Vernon Wells scored the tiebreaking run from
first base on Lyle Overbay's two-out single in the bottom of the
seventh, lifting Toronto past Tampa Bay 5-to-4.

Wells was running on the pitch when Overbay lined a single into
left-center. B-J Upton made a weak throw to the cutoff man,
allowing Wells to beat the relay toss and break a four-all tie.

Frank Thomas smacked his 492nd career homer and Adam Lind went
deep as the Blue Jays won their second straight since a nine-game
losing streak.

Carlos Pena and Carl Crawford homered in the Devil Ray's sixth
consecutive loss.

Scott Downs picked up the victory with help from Jeremy
Accardo's first save of the season.

Brian Stokes slumped to 1-and-5 by yielding the tiebreaking run.
