TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP)
Andy D-Alessio went 3-for-5 and hit two home runs to lead Clemson to an 11-to-6 win over Florida State today.
D-Alessio hit a three-run homer in the first inning and a two-run home run to left center in the seventh inning.
Taylor Harbin and Doug Hogan both had two hits and two R-B-Is for Clemson (34-18, 17-10 Atlantic Coast Conference).
Florida State (43-9, 21-6) tried to start a rally in the seventh inning. Brandon Reichert's double to left field drove home Mark Gildea. Tony Thomas Junior then hit a two-run home run and Mark Hallberg doubled. Hallberg came home on a wild pitch, but Ruairi O-Connor later grounded out to end the inning.
Losing pitcher Ryan Strauss (8-2) lasted 3 1/3 innings on the mound. D J Mitchell (4-0) got the win for Clemson and Stephen Clyne picked up the save.
