TCC’s Andre McMillan inks with JU Dolphins

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (May 17, 2007) – Tallahassee Community College
sophomore guard Andre McMillan has signed a National Letter of Intent to
continue his education and athletic career at Jacksonville (Fla.)
University.

As a sophomore in 2006-07, McMillan averaged 10.2 points per game and
connected on 41.1-percent (74 of 180) of his three-point attempts en
route to being selected to the Coaches’ All-Panhandle Conference
squad. In his freshman campaign, he was the team’s leading scorer off
the bench, averaging 4.5 points per game. McMillan went from playing
the role of sixth-man to a spot in the starting lineup for the final
nine games of the 2005-06 season, including all four games at the NJCAA
Tournament where he helped guide the Eagles to an appearance in the
National Championship Game.

“I really think Jacksonville University is the best place for me from
both an academic and athletics perspective,” said McMillan. “I
could not ask for a better fit and God has blessed me with a great place
to finish my education.”

Equally important to his on-court attributes, he has been a leader in
the classroom, garnering All-Panhandle Conference and All-FCCAA Academic
Honors in 2006. He is also a member of Phi Theta Kappa, an
International Honor Society of two-year colleges.

"Andre's shooting ability fills a void that we had last year," said JU
head coach Cliff Warren. "With his unique background and maturity, he
will step into a leadership role on this team."

During his two seasons at TCC (2005-07), McMillan led the Eagles to a
record of 55-11 and back-to-back appearances in the Florida Community
College Activities Association (FCCAA)/NJCAA Region VIII Tournament.

McMillan, a native of Philadelphia, Pa., graduated from Murrell Dobbins
Area Vocational High School before entering the United States Navy.
