ATLANTA (AP) _ Ohmed Danesh had his first collegiate three-hit
game and Jason Stidham capped a productive three-game series with
four R-B-I to lead Florida State to a 17-to-11 victory over Georgia
The Seminoles (46-9, 24-6 Atlantic Coast Conference) swept the
series, scoring in double figures in all three games against the
Yellow Jackets (31-23, 15-14).
Danesh had a double, two singles, scored twice and drove in two
runs. Stidham, a freshman, had two hits and his four R-B-I gave him
ten for the series.
Tech scored in the first inning to take its only lead in the
series, but F-S-U came back with three in the second to build a 3-1
lead, one it never lost.
The Seminoles put the game on ice with a nine-run third inning
despite getting only four hits. FSU had six walks and two others
were hit by pitches.
Tech scored ten runs over the last three innings, but could not
overcome a 14-run deficit.
In a controlled start, Ryan Strauss (9-2) held the Jackets to
one run on four hits in four innings. He walked one and fanned
The loss went to starter Eddie Burns (3-3), who gave up seven
runs on six hits in two innings. He walked two and struck out two.
