TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) _ Buster Posey capped a five-run seventh
inning with a two-run homer as Florida State, the Number Six seed
nationally, rallied past Bethune-Cookman in its N-C-A-A Regional
opener.
The Seminoles (48-11) had managed just four hits through six
innings off Bethune-Cookman starter Francisco Rodriguez and trailed
2-0.
The Wildcats jumped out in front in the second on a solo home
run by Alejandro Jimenez and a bases loaded sacrifice fly by Neal
Jones off Florida State starter Michael Hyde.
Rodriguez held the Seminoles in check until the seventh. Brandon
Reichert followed Jason Stidham's leadoff single and a walk to
D'Vontrey Richardson with a one-out R-B-I single.
Rodriguez (10-4) got the loss for Bethune-Cookman.
