Bonds Swings Within 9

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) _ Barry Bonds has inched closer to Hank
Aaron's career home run record.
The San Francisco Giants outfielder launched his 747th homer
Monday night against Toronto, leaving him eight behind Aaron's mark.
Bonds sent an 0-1 pitch an estimated 438 feet for a two-run blast
in the first inning. It was his 13th homer of the season and his
second since May eighth.
Josh Towers served up the round-tripper to become the 440th
pitcher to allow a homer to Bonds.
