The Georgia All-Star team is putting it's best foot forward as they attempt to win second consecutive Border Wars battle against Florida. Last season, Georgia beat up on Florida 35-3. Guys who were once foes are now teammates with the same goal.
Georgia All-Star Team head coach Reginald Mitchell says "It's easy to coach all this good talent, but we've had a lot of fun. The kids came out and responded well to what we want to do Saturday, and we've been having a good time."
Cairo wide receiver/defensive back Chris Adama adds, "It feels kind of funny, but we got to get along with everybody. We're a team now."
But these kids are not just trying to win a football game on the gridiron, they also have to prove something else.
Bainbridge running back Thomas Smiley says, "It's important to me because I feel, me being a senior, like I left a lot of yards ont he field, and getting another chance to show the scouts what I can do and all that."
Mitchell says, "It's very important, critically important for these young men to showcase their talents for college recruiters that will be there. For some, this may be their last and only chance to showcase their talent."
So, it's the last chance for scouts and fans to see these players hit the field one last time as high school football players.
