FSU football hall-of-famers, former NFL stars ready for gridiron battle with local ‘Joes’ at Pros & Joes Celebrity Football Game

Organizers believe game will present largest group of FSU Football Hall-of-Famers, Former NFL stars to ever play in single game, in Tallahassee.


Pros & Joes Celebrity Football Game – Former professional and local hall-of-fame football celebrities will battle the Big Bend’s favorite dads, bosses, P.E. teachers, media personalities, and plain ole Joes on the gridiron in an exciting, competitive flag-football game. Proceeds will benefit United Way of the Big Bend.


Pro Team: Bobby Butler (Former Atlanta Falcon & FSU Hall-of-Famer), Jimmy Jordan (Former Tampa Bay Bandits & FSU Hall-of-Famer), Buddy Curry (Former Atlanta Falcon & NFL Rookie of the Year), Nick Maddox (Former Carolina Panther & FSU Running Back), Bill Capece (Former Tampa Bay Buckaneer and FSU Hall-of-Famer), and more – Joe Team: Alan Williams (Aid to the Mayor), Jim McMahon (Coca-Cola), Trip Frazee (Merrill Lynch), Pat Dorsey and Doug Blackburn (Tallahassee Democrat), Steve Rogers (IBM), Sgt. David Farrell (Tallahassee Police Department), and three Maclay School Football Coaches – Several other FSU favorites are expected to be on hand to lend additional support such as FSU’s Peter Boulware and Lawrence Dawsey, Football fans from all around

•Kids & Pros Youth Football Camp is a character-based, youth-development football camp that begins at 8 a.m. June 25 and ends at noon on Friday June 29. The Pros & Joes Celebrity Football Game is designed to kick off the football camp with a bang and bring the community together for an exciting match between local “Joes” and football favorites. The camp is open to all Big Bend kids ages 6 to 13, and they can register by calling 850-339-4387 or visiting The goal of the football camp is “delivering skills and character development through athletics.”
