The South Georgia Peanuts, presented by Security Bank, remained perfect at
the Charlotte Sports Park this season with a 5-3 win over the Charlotte
County Redfish. Dumas Garcia got the start and recorded his fourth win on
the season while Doc Brooks had three hits, Steve Garrabrants recorded two
RBI and Joey Hooft scored two runs.
The scoring began once again for South Georgia in the first inning. With
one out, Joey Hooft singled and then stole second. Brooks came to the
plate and doubled Hooft home after a ball to a funky bounce on the
infield. The Peanuts were able to put up three more runs in the third
inning. Jasha Balcom and Hooft got on base to open the inning and then
scored on a Garrabrants double. Garrabrants would score in the inning
after advancing to third on a Brooks single and then scoring on a Jon
Zeringue sacrifice. In the eighth, Brooks scored the team’s fifth run
after singling with one out and eventually scoring on an error. The
Redfish scored two runs in the sixth and one in the eight but never got
closer than two runs down.
Dumas Garcia pitched well once again earning his fourth win of the season.

Shetrone combined for two innings of scoreless ball while Ja Jones
recorded his second save in two nights pitching two innings.
