ATLANTA (AP) _ Brian McCann's run-scoring single gave the Braves
their first lead in a week, and he added a three-run homer in
Atlanta's 4-to-1 win over the Washington Nationals.
The Braves snapped a five-game losing streak, their longest of
the season. The streak included four shutout losses.
The Braves ended a streak of 48 innings without holding a lead
when McCann's fourth-inning single produced 1-to-0 lead. The Braves
had not led a game since beating the Boston Red Sox 9-4 last
Tim Hudson is 7-and-5 after seven strong innings. Jason
Bergmann, just off the D-L, is 1-and-4 after allowing just one run
in four innings.
