Magic Offseason Still With New Tricks

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) _ The Orlando Magic have apparently gotten
the free agent scorer they needed -- and their busy off-season
still isn't over yet.
Even if the signing of free agent forward Rashard Lewis from the
Seattle SuperSonics goes off without a hitch, big question marks
remain in forwards Darko Milicic and Grant Hill. Hill is rumored to
be interested in playing elsewhere for a title, and the Magic quite
likely can't afford to keep Milicic and sign Lewis.
General manager Otis Smith has insisted since the season ended
that retaining the 7-foot Milicic was Orlando's top priority. But
Orlando also positioned itself to be one of this year's biggest
free agent players, and Lewis is one of this year's biggest free
agents.
Hill's expiring 7-year, 93 (m) million-dollar contract gave the
Magic tremendous salary cap leeway, though not enough to lure a
scorer and keep Milicic without other moves.
