GRIFFIN, Ga. (AP) _ A hole-in-one on the 18th hole won the
Georgia P-G-A's 16th annual Griffiin Classic today for teaching
professional Jeff Hull of Athens.
Hull, who works as a club-fitter for Henry-Griffitts, was tied
for the lead at 9-under-par with Craig Stevens of Fox Creek, who
had just completed his round.
Hull hit a five-iron straight at the flagstick on the 195-yard
par three electrified the spectators around the 18th green by
putting it in the hole
Hull also had four birdies to shoot a 66 to finish the
tournament at 11-under par. He played 36 holes without making a
bogey and ollected the first place check of 45-hundred dollars.
Stevens, who won the 2004 Griffin Classic, also shot 66 today to
finish alone in second place, earning three thousand dollars.
Low amateur honors went to John Saari of Duluth, who defeated
Greg Garde of Settindown Creek on the first playoff hole. They
finished at 4-under par for the tournament.
