North Florida Christian School is pleased to announce the hiring of Robert Craft as Head Football Coach. He is coming to NFC from Moultrie, Georgia, where he has served as the QB Coach and Offensive Coordinator at Colquitt County High School since 2005. In 2009 Colquitt County finished 11-3 and advanced to the State Semifinals in Georgia before losing 19-10 to eventual 5A State Champions Camden County. Colquitt County competes in one of the toughest football regions in the country which includes perennial powerhouses such as Lowndes, Valdosta, and Warner Robbins-Northside in the same region.
Coach Craft is a graduate of North Florida Christian where he played quarterback for the Eagles. Craft played both football and basketball during his high school career and served as team captain in both sports. He was selected to the First Team All State football team as a senior and played a part in three consecutive state titles as a player. Craft was also voted the Tallahassee Quarterback Scholar Athlete of the Year during his senior season.
In college, Craft was a four year letterman in football at Tennessee Tech University setting every major single season and career passing records in school history including most touchdowns, most total yardage, and most total offense. He finished his career as one of the Top 10 passing leaders all-time in the Ohio Valley Conference. During his senior season at Tennessee Tech University, Craft served as the team captain and won numerous awards including the Tennessee Tech President’s Award and the College Football Hall of Fame Scholar Athlete Award.
Eagle football will continue its championship commitment under Coach Craft along with the commitment for academic performance by football athletes. Coach Craft holds a B.S. degree in history from Tennessee Tech and a Masters degree in teaching from University of Illinois at Springfield and is completing an Ed.S. degree in teaching from Valdosta State University.
Robert is married to the former Sara Leeka, also from Tallahassee, and they have a one year old daughter, Ella Grace. The Crafts bring a commitment to their faith as they lead in the ministry to the youth of North Florida Baptist Church through the football program and other opportunities. Currently they are actively involved in the Heritage Church in Moultrie. The Crafts have worked in many student ministries at their church and as the Fellowship of Christian Athlete Huddle Leader at Colquitt County High School.
Coach Craft will begin as the Head Football Coach at North Florida Christian School on Monday.
