Marlins Overpowered by Defending Champs

MIAMI (AP) _ Chris Duncan and Adam Kennedy homered as St. Louis
dumped Florida 5-to-3.
Duncan gave the Cardinals an early lead with a two-run shot in
the first inning. The Marlins eventually knotted the score before
Gary Bennett hit an R-B-I single in the fourth to put the Redbirds
ahead to stay.
Kennedy followed with a solo homer and Duncan added a sacrifice
fly to help Braden Looper win for the first time in seven starts.
Looper evened his record at 7-and-7 by holding the Marlins to
two runs and five hits over six and a-third.
Jason Isringhausen (IHZ'-ring-how-zehn) worked the ninth for his
18th save.
Byung-Hyun Kim (byuhng-hyoon kihm) gave up five runs and eight
hits in six-plus innings to fall to 4-and-5.
