It's been a special season for the Wakulla 12 and under All-Stars. After years of playing together, 2007 has brought unprecedented success.
"It's been real special because this is the first time ever that Wakulla's 12 and under team has won states and gone on to regionals," says Dalton Dugger.
A state title is a great accomplishment, but it is trumped by the way the Wakulla stars got there... undefeated.
"Well doing that is just above and beyond what most dreams could dream of doing, it's always just coming out and beating everybody," says fellow All-Star Jake Walker.
If you're looking for the key ingredient, it must be the passing of time. Like a sweet gobstopper, these little guys only get better over time.
"They've just matured and became a lot better baseball players from last year to this year...They know it's a team effort... and we win together," cites coach Randy Barnes.
"From here we're going to Mobile, Alabama we'll be playing in the Southeast Regionals... there's going to be 10 teams in this tournament and we hope we'll do well there," adds coach Bobbie Dugger.
Either way, the Wakulla Stars can rest assured as their season of success is enough for a happy ending.
