A-Rod Bombs Devil Rays

NEW YORK (AP) _ Alex Rodriguez hit his 497th career homer and
drove in four runs to help the New York Yankees beat the Tampa Bay
Devil Rays 17-to-5 to complete a sweep of a day-night doubleheader.
A-Rod leads the majors with 33 homers.
In the opener, Shelley Duncan's first major league homer capped
a five-run sixth inning that carried New York to a 7-to-3 victory.
Hideki Matsui homered in both games. Matsui has eight homers in
his last 16 games. Luis Vizcaino (viz-ky-AH'-noh) earned two wins
in one day.
Johnny Damon drove in four runs in the nightcap and made two
great catches during a rare start in left field for New York, which
moved within seven and a-half games of A-L East-leading Boston.
