Athens, GA - Heavy rains across the southeast forced the cancellation of Wednesday's scheduled Southeastern Conference double header between Georgia and Florida at the UGA Softball Stadium.
The No. 4/6-ranked Bulldogs (18-1) and the No. 4/11-ranked Gators (16-2) waited out a two-and-a-half our delay from Wednesday's original start time before concluding weather conditions would not clear enough for play.
Georgia will now open its SEC slate against seventh-ranked Alabama (15-5) this weekend. The Bulldogs and Crimson Tide will play a double header on Saturday starting 1 p.m. ET with the series finale on Sunday at 2 p.m.
