It was an interesting summer for pre-season All-MEAC wide receiver Willie Hayward. After a breakout junior year that saw the talented Rattler evolve into the team's most dangerous deep route threat, Hayward was suspended by coach Rubin Carter for conduct detrimental to the team.

Months later, you have to give the student athlete credit. The 6'4 190-pound Miami, FL native could have pouted and quit on his team. Instead he took the penalty in stride, and cleaned up his act.

The college star with an NFL body, and plenty of natural talent has got his mind set right as the season is ready to kick off.

"Coach Carter has a great system going, where he promotes a lot of working hard, and dedication and team, and we come out here, we keep coach Carter's words in our heads, and we come out here and play harder as a team and play hard," says Hayward.
