Tampa Bay Wins Rare Road Game

DETROIT (AP) - Dioner Navarro raised his average over .200 while leading Tampa Bay's offense in a 7-1 triumph at Detroit.

Navarro went three-for-five with a two-run homer and three runs scored as the Devil Rays ended an eight-game road losing streak. He's hitting .201, the first time he's been above .200 since mid-May.

Delmon Young and Carlos Pena also had two ribbies for the D-Rays, who had dropped 19 of their previous 21 road games.

James Shields allowed five hits in seven innings, blanking the Tigers until Placido Polanco homered in the 4th. Sheilds improved to 9 and 7 while Chad Durbin slipped to 7 and 4. Durbin was reached
