CHICAGO (AP) -- Rookie Wade Davis outpitched a very imperfect
Mark Buehrle and Sean Rodriguez homered and drove in four runs
Wednesday night, leading the Tampa Bay Rays to a 12-0 victory over
the Chicago White Sox.
Facing the Rays for the first time since his July 23 perfect
game against them, Buehrle (2-2) allowed six runs on nine hits in 4
2-3 innings as the White Sox lost for the fifth time in six games
to fall into last place in the AL Central.
Davis (1-1) gave up two hits and struck out six in six scoreless
innings. The 24-year-old right-hander surrendered Juan Pierre's
bunt single to start the game and walked three of the next five
batters before settling down. He didn't walk anybody else and the
only other hit he allowed was Pierre's line-drive single in the
sixth.
