Tampa Bay Loses Again

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) _ Tim Wakefield improved to 19-and-2
lifetime against Tampa Bay as the Boston Red Sox blanked the Devil
Rays 6-0. The knuckleballer allowed four hits over seven innings to
improve to 15-and-10 overall this year.
Wakefield improved to 9-and-0 lifetime at Tropicana Field. It's
the most wins by any Tampa Bay opponent. Wakefield struck out five
and moved into a tie for the major league lead in wins this season.
Mike Lowell had a homer and drove in three runs. Manny Ramirez
had two RBIs for the AL East-leading Red Sox, who are 11-and-8 in
August.
The Devil Rays lost for the sixth time in eight games to fall 30
games under .500.
