Georgia Little Leaguers Advance in LLWS

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (AP) - Dalton Carriker singled, doubled and hit a three-run homer to lead Warner Robins, Georgia, past Walpole, Massachusetts, 8-1 Wednesday to clinch a semifinal berth at the Little League World Series.

Carriker's opposite-field shot sailed past the 225-foot fence and bounced in front of a driveway about 15 feet beyond the wall.

Another run scored later in the inning on an error as Warner Robins built a 6-0 lead.

The Georgia squad calmly exchanged high-fives in the infield after Walpole's Brian Wolpe grounded into a game-ending double play.

The teams were completing a game suspended Monday night in the second inning because of rain.

Warner Robins plays next in the U.S. semifinals Thursday night at 7:30pm. Walpole was eliminated.
