Federer Averts a Scare at Open, Gets Roddick Next

Federer is trying to become the first man to win four
consecutive U.S. Open titles since the 1920s.
With sixth-seed James Blake losing to tenth-seed Tommy Haas in
five sets earlier Monday, Roddick is the only American man left in
the U.S. Open.
On Tuesday night, top women's seed Justine Henin (zhoo-STEEN'
EH'-nen) plays Serena Williams in the quarterfinals. Williams holds
a 6-5 lifetime edge, though Henin has won the last two matches.
