Nationals Beat Marlins

WASHINGTON (AP) _ Wily Mo Pena (WIHL'-ee moh PAYN'-yah) singled
to break a tie in the seventh, leading Washington to a 6-4 win over
Florida for the Nationals' fifth straight win. It's their 63rd
victory, meaning the Nationals cannot lose 100 games.
Austin Kearns had three hits, including his 13th home run. The
Marlins have lost 17 of 21. Florida fell three games behind
Washington in the NL East basement.
Each team used seven pitchers, with neither starter lasting past
the third inning. Luis Ayala is 1-and-2 with a perfect seventh. Jon
Rauch (rowsh) struck out the side in the eighth and Chad Cordero
pitched out of trouble in the ninth to earn his 31th save in 39
opportunities.
