NEW YORK (AP) - The NFL reportedly is considering taking away draft picks from the New England Patriots for spying on the New York Jets in their season opener.
Citing league sources, ESPN.com is reporting that commissioner Roger Goodell has determined the Patriots violated league rules when they videotaped defensive signals by the Jets' coaches during Sunday's 38-14 Patriots victory.
The Web site's report says Goodell is considering severe sanctions, including docking the Patriots “multiple draft picks.'' A league spokesman says the investigation is ongoing.
