Tallahassee, FL - "EA Sports. It's int he game."
Seminole football fans, game designers with EA Sports are thinking highly of the Garnet and Gold as they're prominently featured in the demo for NCAA Football 11.
Russ Kinry, a game designer for EA Sports, says, "We tried to really make every school kind of really feel, look and play like it does on Saturday. So, everything from run-outs where you'll see the chop in Tallahassee to the smoke in Miami."
FSU associate director of athletics Rob Wilson says,
"I always think how much more of a compliment is there than a figure that simulates you and what not. When I look at them, I look at all the stadiums and stuff."
But it's not just the look of the game, but the actual feel. The demo tries to show some of the different offenses on the college landscape. Florida has the spread offense while the Noles feature the multiple offense.
Kinry says, "With the coaching change, we actually, we tried to focus on what we feel and it looks like Florida State is moving to. We tried to focus Florida State more being what we call a multiple-style offense where they run out of all different kind of sets. From spread sets to tight formations. It's actually one of the toughest offense in our game to deal with because you really don;t know what you're getting on any given play."
Wilson adds, "It's very popular with our players themselves. Coach (Jimbo) Fisher's kids are big into it, so we're all into it.
So fans who are Monday morning quarterbacks can now see if they could do better when they have control in their hands.
