Leftwich Lands with Falcons

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) _ Cut loose by Jacksonville,
quarterback Byron Leftwich has found a new home with the Atlanta
Falcons.
The former first-round draft pick passed a physical today and
signed a two-year, 7 million-dollar contract.
The Falcons need help at the quarterback position as Joey
Harrington has lost his first two starts after replacing the
suspended Michael Vick. Atlanta's offense has scored a total of ten
points in those two games.
Leftwich was picked seventh overall by Jacksonville in 2003.
He's been hampered by ankle and knee injuries and has missed 15
games the past two years.
Harrington's other backup is Chris Redman, who has not played in
an NFL game since 2003.
