FAMU Hires Harris

Florida A&M University officially announced the hiring of Eugene Harris Thursday afternoon. He replaces Mike Gillespie Sr., who was fired in August. Gillespie Sr. remains on paid administrative leave through Nov. 2.

FAMU's Board of Trustees approved the contract of Harris Thursday morning.

The Tallahassee Democrat is reporting that Harris received a four-year contract worth $155,000 a year salary, but FAMU President Dr. James Ammons, as well as Harris said at the press conference the contract is still being negotiated.
