TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – If you’ve been waiting for a chance to collect autographs from Florida State football coach Jimbo Fisher, his coaching staff and the rest of the 2010 Seminoles, here is your chance.
This year’s annual Fan Day, presented by Tallahassee Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep and KIA Autosports, is Sunday, Aug. 8 at the Donald L. Tucker Center from 12 noon to 2 p.m. It will mark the first time many fans will have the opportunity to meet Fisher and size up the amazing progress the Seminoles have made during the offseason.
It’s a big day, not only for Seminole fans, but the players and coaches as well.
“Fan Day is a fun day,” said Fisher. “It’s a great time for our players to meet a lot of fans face-to-face, including some of the young kids who look up to the players and idolize them. It’s a huge responsibility for our players to understand the role models that they are and the role they play in public and in the lives of young kids.
“When you see a young kid’s eyes as he gets to meet his favorite player, I think it does a lot of good things for our players, too. It makes them realize who they are and what they are. It also gives them an appreciation for the support and what it means to be a Florida State football player.”
Beyond the autograph session with FSU coaches and players - only one item for autographs, please - fans will be entertained by the Seminole cheerleading squad and get an up-close look at Osceola & Renegade. Free 2010 Florida State football schedule posters will be distributed until supplies run out.
The doors to the Tucker Center will open at 11 a.m., but the day doesn’t end there. For the first time, Seminole fans will be treated to an open football practice inside Doak Campbell Stadium, from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
Best of all, admission and parking are free at both events.
