Tallahassee, FL - The Buccaneers are going to Disney World, except these football players are a couple of feet shorter and about 200 pounds lighter.
The Bradfordville Bucs of the Mighty Mite division in the Pop Warner league were selected as the top team in the Southeast region and will face a select few teams that come from all over the country in Orlando.
The head coach of this 7-9 nine-year-old group is former NFL star and FSU alum Corey Simon.
"This is a time for them to: one, have a good time; and two, learn what it means to be a good sport," Simon said.
Simon says it can be difficult to keep the young tacklers focused, but they all share one common goal.
"We're pretty good, so I think we're probably gonna win," C.J. Simon said.
"I didn't think we could do it, but Coach Corey pushed us and then we made it," William Evans said.
The Buccaneers were undefeated and won their championship game 52-0.
"We started off as a rough start," Evans said. "But we got into the mood where...we got into the mood where we just wanted to win."
Simon says the best part about coaching, though, has nothing to do with what the kids do on the field.
"I'm not out here trying to breed the next great football player," he said. "I'm out here trying to breed the next great human being."
