Athens, GA - The sixth-ranked Georgia football team began preparations for this week's matchup with Tennessee by holding a one-hour, full-pads session on the Woodruff Practice Fields on Monday.
The Bulldogs are 3-1 overall and 2-0 in the SEC, while the Volunteers are 3-2 overall and 0-1 in the league.
Saturday's game in Knoxville will kick off at 3:30 p.m. and will be televised by CBS.
Monday's practice was the first for the Bulldogs since their 44-41 victory over then-No. 6 LSU at Sanford Stadium.
"The biggest thing is we, as coaches and players, can't hang on to that feeling of how great it was for very long," Georgia coach Mark Richt said. "We have to move on. We have to move our focus to Tennessee. No matter what we felt in the stadium or in the locker room, it will be forgotten much sooner if we don't come back and continue to do the things we have to do to win. We've got to be focused and we've got to be at the top of our game to be good. We've got to get our minds right and our bodies right and turn the page and move on. … As coaches and players, we're working on the new game plan. After honor roll, which was the first thing we did in today's meeting, last week's game was over. We're moving on to the next game with Tennessee."
Richt said the captains for Saturday's game will be quarterback Aaron Murray and receiver Chris Conley on offense, end Garrison Smith on defense, and cornerback Connor Norman on special teams.
