Tallahassee, FL - Florida State is over it. The loss to Florida hurt over the weekend, but the Seminoles are moving on. They have to if they expect to win the ACC title this week against Georgia Tech.
"They understand what they have to accomplish and we can still win a conference championship and have a phenomenal year," FSU Head Coach Jimbo Fisher said.
The 'Noles are only two years removed from an ACC title shot which resulted in a loss to Virginia Tech. But Florida State will now face a team they have not seen since 2009.
"I know those guys like to run the ball a lot, so time of possession is extremely important," senior quarterback EJ Manuel said. "So when we have the opportunity to score points, we need to score touchdowns and not just field goals."
Manuel is referring to the Yellow Jackets triple option offense. It's a system teams rarely see.
"It's such an unorthodox thing from trying to see it and then the simulation in practice. The more times you see something the better you're gonna be at it," Fisher said.
Both the Seminoles and the Yellow Jackets are coming off losses to their non-conference rivals. But that will not deter FSU from potentially ending a successful season.
"Try to treat it like a normal game week," Manuel said. "And the implications of this game are huge. I understand, my teammates understand that, so we have to get the job done."
