CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) -- Duke Johnson is tied for third in all of major-college football with six touchdowns already this season.
This was news to him.
When the Miami Hurricanes talk about the humility level of their standout do-everything freshman, they aren't kidding.
Johnson's mother urges him not to read his press clippings. His roommate says he doesn't even watch televised highlights of his play, which so far include four touchdowns of at least 50 yards.
Johnson's six touchdowns are more than 10 teams from the Football Bowl Subdivision level have this season. He scored four in last week's win over Bethune-Cookman, and gets a chance to add to his total on Saturday when Miami (2-1, 1-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) visits Georgia Tech (2-1, 1-1).
