FAMU Fights Through Adversity in First Half of Season

Tallahassee, FL -- Halfway through the season and the FAMU Rattlers have four losses on the year. Take out the loss to Oklahoma and FAMU was in position to win each of those four games

"It ended on the goal line," says head coach Joe Taylor. "We moved the ball well up and down the field, but we're having some problems in the redzone."

"We can play with everybody in this conference," adds FAMU senior punter Branden Holdren. "We should be beating them all. We just have to have that focus throughout the whole game we have in the final two minutes and we just have to finish our drives. We have to go in and just give that extra little effort to finish it."

Against Tennessee State, Southern and Howard, the Rattlers were in striking distance, inside the ten yard line for each final drive, but came up short.

"Fight the good fight. Continue to press on, persevere because everything doesn't always go your way. We learned that from the first game of the season," adds FAMU senior linebacker Brandon Hepburn. "This being our sixth game, we're focusing and we only have Savannah State so that's our only focus."

"As a leader I want the ball in my hands and I want to be able to make plays for my team and just put the ball in my playmakers hands so we can get yardage and do what we need to do," adds FAMU sophomore quarterback Damien Fleming.

Each of those games were decided on the road. The Rattlers will finish the season with four of their final five game, played in the state of Florida.
