Tallahassee, FL - Florida State's indoor football practice facility is a month away from completion.
Workers from Childers Construction Company are installing the infield sand to provide cusion for the players when they run around the field.
"We had eight months to build this project, so it took a lot to get to where we are now," said Jason Gassett, the project manager for Childers Construction Company. "It's like every other job, from start to finish it's all still the same process. But this one we had to work faster, longer and harder and battle the weather and everything else."
They still have to add synthetic turf to the outside field, pave a sidewalk and parking lot, add lights and landscape the surrounding grounds.
"There's always issues, things we have to overcome, but we deal with that everyday in any project," Gassett said. "So, its been good. I'm happy with where we're at. I wish it wouldn't be raining everyday. That would make things a lot easier for us."
The workers have a deadline of August 1st, the first day of training camp for the Seminoles.
