Georgia Swimmers Chosen For National Teams
Several members of the Georgia swimming team have been chosen to national teams by USA Swimming.

Athens, GA - Several members of the Georgia swimming team have been chosen to national teams by USA Swimming.
Morgan Scroggy and Allison Schmitt will represent the United States and the University of Georgia in the FINA World Championships July 24-31, 2011, in Shanghai, China. Scroggy will compete in the 800 freestyle relay, while Schmitt will swim in the 200 freestyle and on the 800 freestyle relay. Georgia coach Jack Bauerle will serve as one of the assistants, and former Lady Bulldog Kara Lynn Joyce will swim on the 400 freestyle relay.
USA Swimming also selected its rosters for the World University Games, which will be held Aug. 14-19, 2011, in Shenzhen, China. The United States and the Univeirsty of Georgia will be represented by Chelsea Nauta, Megan Romano and Shannon Vreeland on the women’s team and Matt Bartlett, Mark Dylla and Andrew Gemmell on the men’s team. Nauta is entered on the 800 freestyle relay, Romano is in the 100 freestyle and on the 400 freestyle relay, Vreeland will compete on the 400 freestyle relay, Bartlett is on the 800 freestyle relay, Dylla is entered in the 200 butterfly and Gemmell will do the 400 individual medley and the 1,500 freestyle.
Next up for Georgia’s swimmers will be the Southeastern Conference Championships Feb. 16-19 in Gainesville, Fla.
