Tallahassee, FL - Greg Reid arrived at the field before anyone else. It was his first time back at Doak Campbell Stadium since he was dismissed from the team last August. But on this March day, Florida State's Pro Day, Reid reunited with his former teammates.
Reid let it be known, though, loud and clear, that he was back. Not just back at FSU, but back on any football field, period.
"I'm ready to play. So, hopefully next year will be an exciting year."
It was also an opportunity for him to reflect on his unfortunate senior season that never was.
"It was tough, man. I really don't know how to explain it," Reid said. "Not being able to play football - the closest thing I got to football was a video game. So, it was tough, man."
Reid was a former Georgia State Player of the Year out of Lowndes High School. And even after three years excelling as a Seminole, number five couldn't escape trouble.
He was supposed to have a second chance at Valdosta State, until he tore his ACL before playing in a single game.
"It was the most devastating moment of my life," he said.
He turned that devastation into motivation.
Reid's hoping to prove that he's a catch in the NFL.
"The draft will handle itself. So that's all I want to do, man. I just want to get blessed with the opportunity and everything else will work out," he said.
