San Antonio, TX - Finding a way to finish off quarters was more than just a little problem for the Miami Heat on Sunday night. It put the reigning NBA champions one loss from elimination.
San Antonio ended the first quarter on a 15-2 run, then wrapped the third with a 12-1 burst. And those flurries generated more than enough cushion than the Spurs would need on the way to a 114-104 win that put them one win away from their fifth championship since 1999.
The series shifts to Miami for Game 6 on Tuesday night. Game 7, if necessary, would be hosted by the Heat on Thursday night.
Miami was down by 17 in the first half, then got within one point on two occasions in the third quarter. But the Heat never led, and now everything hinges on them being able to win twice at home.
