Joey Striplin Joins East Gadsden Staff

Gadsden County, FL -- April 10, 2012 --

The name Striplin carries a lot of weight around the Big Bend. Now it’ll have a presence in Gadsden County. Joey Striplin has been named the offensive coordinator at East Gadsden High School. Striplin joins 2nd year Head Coach Corey Fuller at East Gadsden after spending 3 seasons as the head coach of the Bobcats at Robert F. Munroe High School.

Not too long ago, Joey Striplin was a heralded starting quarterback for Lincoln High school. When his playing days were over, his coaching passion took over. Striplin’s journey then took him to Aucilla Christian School where his offensive brain groomed a 7th grade quarterback (Matt Dobson) into a starting quarterback and later a 2-time State Champ at North Florida Christian.

Striplin spent 3 seasons as Warriors head coach before accepting the same position with the Munroe Bobcats. He met with players and parents Monday and Tuesday to inform them of his resignation.

East Gadsden reached the State Semifinals last season before falling at Jacksonville-Bolles. That was the deepest playoff run for Jaguar football in school history.
